Bullying and harassment
Get the best advice when confronted with bad behaviour in the workplace.
Today, bullying and harassment is no longer acceptable in the workplace. Bullying and harassment is generally considered a pattern of behaviour rather than an isolated event. If you believe that you are being exposed to this kind of behaviour your employer should have a grievance procedure and a confidential complaint can be lodged.
Fair Work Australia has powers in certain cases to investigate such complaints if the employer has failed to so, but does not have the power to award damages. In some cases this kind of behaviour – if proven – can support a claim for compensation . These matters are sensitive and we can advise on your rights in this area.
